Science Week 1

On Friday 7th May we went to a science programme in the art room. The first thing we did was put on some protective goggles. Each group had some containers in front of them and then got some solid carbon dioxide, which looked just like ice. Next we added some warm water and massive puffs of steam poured out. After, we did the experiment again but this time we added food colouring and then a drop of dish washing liquid. Out came huge tubes of bubble that didn't stop.

We found out a really big word SUBLIMATION which means when a solid changes into a gas(steam) without changing to liquid first. We saw SUBLIMATION happen with the water mixed with the carbon dioxide.
We also found out that everything in the world is either a SOLID, LIQUID or GAS.

Wow! I've just learnt a new word.- Sublimation. What a great way to learn science. In my day we would have read about it in a book. Yawn, yawn!
Hope you have some more cool experiments to do and post them so I can learn more.
